Rental Terms

Each additional authorized drivers must meet the minimum age requirements and present a valid driver’s license valid for 2 years. All location policies that apply to the renter will also apply for each extra driver. Additional driver costs 7.00 EUR per day. Costs for additional driver are counted only for first 10 rental days, for each additional driver. 

35€ late hours service fee applies from 19:30 – 08:30 per pick-up/drop-off. The fee will not appear in total pricing on the reservation. In case of late hours service is required, customers have to grant credit card and flight information. After hours returns permitted in most instances, please contact AlphaRent for details.

Standard Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP) coverages are included in your quotation. This means that for each full or partial day that the car rented to you, and the car operated in accordance with rental agreement, we assume all loss or damage to the car. Except, if permitted by law, for lost, damaged or stolen keys or remote entry devices, towing or tire service unless related to an accident, and except for your amount of excess, specified on the rental document.

All car groups, except Premium cars, has an excess of 600.00 EUR against damages (CDW) and excess of 10% from car`s market value against theft or total loss of a vehicle (TP). 

Premium cars has an excess of 1100.00 EUR against damages (CDW) and excess of 10% from car`s market value against theft or total loss of a vehicle (TP). 

Note: If you do not accept CDW & TP, AlphaRent will reserve the full vehicle value plus rental charges on the renter’s credit card. If you require additional insurance coverage, you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess. Pre-book it online or ask at the AlphaRent rental desk when you collect your car.

Damage handling fee 30 € applied per each case of road accident and any damage on the rented vehicle.

One -way rentals with drop off outside Riga are not allowed. 

All rental cars given with a full tank of fuel. In case of returning the vehicle with missing fuel, refueling is 3.00€ per liter. 

It is allowed to use the car in all three Baltic countries - Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia. Border crossing outside Baltics is not allowed. Information regarding border crossing outside Baltics can be receiwed at AlphaRent office, or  info@alpharent.lv , +371 26334992.

Rental is based on a 24-hour period. The customer receives a 59-minute grace period. If he/she keeps the vehicle after this time, an daily rate will apply from minute one.

Reservation Hold Policy (formally known as ‘Hold Policy’):

It is the policy of AlphaRent to have the confirmed vehicle available during normal business hours for the calendar day of the scheduled arrival.

Parking / Traffic Violations:

You are responsible for paying all parking and traffic violations incurred while using the vehicle. If you incur a violation during the rental, Payless will process and bill you for fines associated with the violations. In addition to any violation fees you will also be charged a service charge, payable to the third party of 30€ per violation. These items will be billed directly to the Credit Card you used for the rental transaction. Charges will appear as a separate line item on your credit card or bank statement.

Payment Information:

The estimated amount of the rental plus a security deposit be authorized against your credit card at the time of rental. Business Credit Cards must also display the renter’s name. Unused authorizations will be released upon return of the vehicle. The following are accepted forms of payment:

Certain uses of the car and other things you or a driver may do, or fail to do, will violate car rental agreement. A violation of this paragraph, which includes use of the car by an unauthorized driver, will automatically terminate your rental, is an exclusion to and voids all liability protection and any optional services that you have accepted, including additional insurances, roadside assistance program and collision damage waiver or partial collision damage waiver. It also makes you liable to us for all the penalties, fines, forfeitures, liens, recovery and storage costs, including all related legal expenses, fees and costs. It is a violation of this paragraph if:

1. You use or permit the car to be used:

a) By anyone other than an authorized driver.

b) To carry passengers or properties for hire.

c) To tow or push anything.

d) To be operated in a test, race or contest or on unpaved roads.

e) While the driver is under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.

f) For conduct that could properly be charged as a felony or misdemeanor, including the transportation of a controlled substance or contraband.

g) Recklessly or while overloaded.

2. You or an additional driver, authorized or not:

a) Fail to promptly report any damage to or loss of the car when it occurs or when you learn of it and provide us with a written accident/incident report or fail to cooperate fully with our investigation.

b) Obtained the car through fraud or misrepresentation.

c) Leave the car and fail to remove the keys or close and lock all doors, close all windows and the trunk and the car is stolen or vandalized.

d) Intentionally or with willful disregard cause or allow damage to the car.

e) Return the car after hours and the car is damaged, stolen or vandalized.

3. Driving or operating Payless car while using a hand-held wireless communication device or other device that is capable of receiving or transmitting telephonic communications, electronic data, mail or text messages shall be deemed a breach of this contract.

Requirements and Restrictions:

All drivers must meet the renting location’s minimum age requirements, have a valid driver’s license , clean driving record for 1 year, and present a major credit card in his/her own name at the time of rental. Roadside Safety Net (RSN) product will waive roadside assistance costs up to 150€ per incident (emergency road service towing, winching, jump-start, flat tire change, lockout service, emergency fuel delivery). You may purchase RSN at AlphaRent only for 4€ per day.

GPS Navigation (Garmin)  - 9.00 EUR per day

Wi-Fi -  7.00 EUR per day

Child seat -  10.00 EUR per day, charge only up to 10 days.

Delivery/collection within city -  20.00 EUR

21% VAT is included in quotation.

35.00 EUR additional charge for pick up after working hours 19:30 - 23:59.

40.00 EUR for returning and leaving the car in non agreed place and time.

600.00 EUR for missing car keys.

100.00 EUR for missing car documents or registration signs.

250.00 EUR charge for missing naigation system, WIFI system or some of their details.

400.00 EUR for driving outside Baltic countries without permission granted from AlphaRent. 

International driver’s license required for licenses in non-Latin alphabet and for countries that have not joined the convention on road traffic at Vienna on 8th of November 1968.
